27 April – 01 May 2026 | EPFL Campus
This workshop brings together the communities of quantum learning theory, quantum sensing, and quantum verification to explore their shared challenges and opportunities. While each field has made significant independent progress, interaction between them has historically been limited despite their closely related goals. Motivated by both rigorous theory and rapid experimental advances, the workshop aims to foster meaningful cross-disciplinary dialogue, with a particular focus on the capabilities of near- and intermediate-term quantum devices. Key themes include leveraging learning-theoretic and algorithmic techniques to enhance quantum sensing, developing improved noise models and error mitigation strategies, using insights from sensing and metrology to inspire new quantum algorithms, and addressing the critical challenge of verifying quantum computations on noisy devices that exceed classical simulation capabilities. By uniting leading researchers across domains, the workshop seeks to bridge theory and practice and catalyse new collaborative directions in quantum technologies.

Food in Lausanne is generally expensive (welcome to Switzerland) and under-whelming. But here are some less bad options as recommended by Zoe's group:
Place du Port 3, 1006 Lausanne
If you need your cheese fix this does fondu in a cute old building by the lake.
Quai Jean-Pascal Delamuraz 1, 1006 Lausanne
Nice lake side location. Ok pizzas/bar food.
Av. Emile-Henri-Jaques-Dalcroze 9, 1007 Lausanne
Inauthentic Iranian food (outstanding Iranian cocktails) with very scenic terrace views onto the lake.
Av. Emile-Henri-Jaques-Dalcroze 9, 1007 Lausanne
Very scenic terrace views onto lake. Fusion asian. Mixed reviews of food. All you can eat. Chaotic service.
Av. d'Ouchy 22, 1006 Lausanne
Georgian food in Sous-gare (bougy location between main station and lake).
Rue Saint-Martin 9, 1003 Lausanne
Cheap option in Lausanne, very tasty vietnamese sandwich, closes early around 6 PM
Av. de Cour 15, 1007 Lausanne
Next to botanic garden, real Chinese restaurant, non-greasy Cantonese kitchen, and the only restaurant in Lausanne serving handmade dim sum.
EPFL and Rue des Terreaux 10, 1003 Lausanne
The most highly debated food option in Lausanne. Viewed by some as a perfectly decent and convenient fast food burger joint at EPFL. Viewed by others as poor quality meat with legends of giving food poisoning. Opinions tend to correlate strongly with whether or not McDonald's was viewed as a treat growing up and whether or not they get excited by the thought of "in-and-out" burgers as they head west.
Rue du Valentin 15, 1004 Lausanne
Greek food. Good for somewhere cheapish and quick. Very small so not good for a group sitting in. Works as a take out.
Rue Madeleine 18, 1003 Lausanne
Popular central bar. Open until late. Good beer selection. Good burgers. Good luck getting a seat on Thurs/Fri/Saturday.
Av. du Rond-Point 1, 1006 Lausanne
Nice quiet bar with "your grans living room" style furnishings.
Places to swim in the lake (cold but beautiful):

Lausanne Cathedral night watchman:
Every night on the hour from 10pm to 2pm someone for some reason shouts from the cathedral that there are no fires.
